It’s no wonder I’m so reluctant to start working on design commissions for people because in the end it has always been a wasted effort. My uncle just pulled a fast one on me by finding someone else to do the work while I had already started on his logo. He didn’t feel the need to tell me until after I put in the work and had sent it to him.
This has happened to me way too many times.
Actually, just about every single design related job I’ve been asked to do ends up this way. And the thoughts that obviously go through my head are, well I must not be good enough, I’m not what they’re looking for, but why do they bother contacting me about it in the first place just to shoot me down?
Ugh.
And if they think they’re sparing my feelings by finding someone else instead of just flat out saying they don’t like what I came up with and making me do more work, they are so very wrong. I just don’t understand the mentality.
